Swoon Appoints Lori Miller Kalbfleisch as President
Swoon announced today that Lori Miller (formerly Lori Kalbfleisch) has been appointed president and will assume the day-to-day leadership of the staffing and consulting company. Miller has been a part of Swoon for 10 years, recently serving as Executive Vice President of Sales. Andy Baker, Swoon’s co-founder, is stepping down from his role as President but will remain active in the company. “I know that stepping back will allow Lori and our amazing team more space to continue our exciting expansion as Swoon develops into a global industry leader,” Baker said. “There’s no doubt that Lori and our team will accomplish even more incredible milestones as Swoon builds to exceed our goal of beating $1 billion in revenues.” Before joining Swoon, Miller started her career as a recruiter at Swoon’s sister company, NextGen Global Resources. As she climbed the ranks, she initiated the first global expansion into Canada and developed Swoon’s largest sales strategy supporting Fortune 500 firms across North America, leading to her promotion to EVP of Sales. In that role, Miller helped Swoon become the 10th fastest-growing technology staffing firm while also driving revenue growth by 65% in 2021 and 53% in 2022. “Swoon doesn’t seem to set boundaries for what we are capable of, which means the next 10 years will be incredibly exciting and filled with unexpected opportunities!” Miller said. “We’ve worked hard to put ourselves on the map, and we’ve caught the audiences’ attention! That is a testament to what we do here together.” The announcement comes on the heels of several major expansion projects at Swoon, including the acquisition of Grapevine Talent Acquisition in 2022, the opening of new locations in Mexico and Australia, and the addition of a consulting arm of the company, Swoon Consulting. As for the challenges ahead, Miller acknowledges the shifts the staffing industry will have to navigate; “There are talent waves of both surplus and scarcity in different markets, skillsets, and industries, so the procurement of talent becomes much more critical to clients. Swoon is prepared to partner closely with our customers to provide even more value going forward.” Swoon’s dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion will remain a focus under Miller’s leadership. “Swoon has a strong foundation and culture at all levels. We will continue to grow because of the people that make up Swoon,” Quyen Pham, VP of Swoon Consulting and Swoon’s DEI Chair, said. “Lori, as our President, will not simply continue our culture but will add to it.” Miller has taken over as president, effective January 1, 2023.
